About the Forum
The Inaugural Southern African Public Procurement Forum (SAPPF) brings procurement institutions and professionals from across the region together for two days of dialogue on the future of public procurement in Southern Africa.
Hosted by the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ), the Forum is convened under the theme “Transforming Public Procurement for Sustainable Growth and Regional Integration in Southern Africa.” It is a dedicated regional platform created to foster collaboration between procurement bodies, strengthen institutional capacity, and harness public procurement as a driver of regional trade and innovation.
Over 24 and 25 June 2026, delegates will share experience, examine shared challenges, and explore practical ways to align procurement systems for sustainable growth and deeper regional integration.

The Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) will host the Inaugural Southern African Public Procurement Forum (SAPPF) at the Harare International Conference Centre from 24 to 25 June 2026. Convened under the theme “Transforming Public Procurement for Sustainable Growth and Regional Integration in Southern Africa,” the Forum is a dedicated regional platform for examining how public procurement can advance sustainable growth, deepen regional integration, and strengthen the institutions that deliver it.
The Forum brings together procurement regulators, policymakers, practitioners, and development partners from across Southern Africa for two days of dialogue, shared learning, and practical collaboration.

The Forum seeks to:
- Foster regional collaboration by connecting procurement authorities and institutions across Southern Africa to share experience and align approaches.
- Strengthen institutional capacity so procurement bodies are better equipped to deliver efficient, accountable, and transparent systems.
- Promote regional trade by using public procurement to open markets and support cross-border economic activity.
- Drive innovation in public procurement through new tools, technology, and practices that improve value and service delivery.

The programme will include:
- Opening and closing ceremonies led by PRAZ leadership, government officials, and regional dignitaries.
- Keynote presentations on sustainable growth, regional integration, institutional capacity, and innovation in public procurement.
- Expert panel discussions bringing together procurement regulators, policymakers, practitioners, and development partners from across Southern Africa.
- Case studies and country experiences showcasing procurement reforms, lessons, and best practices from across the region.
- Plenary discussions and working sessions to share insights and shape practical recommendations for regional collaboration and reform.
